Sheepdog training and “Raising-the-Dead-Whistling-Day”!!!

Herding days on Zicksee: (at the “Zickseeranch”, Johann Lehner, St. Andrä/Zicksee, Burgenland)

3rd of October: two groups, mostly experienced dogs

4th of October: one group

31st of October: two groups, including total beginners,

HALLOWEEN PARTY at the Lindenhof, St. Andrä

1st of November: RAISING-THE-DEAD-WHISTLING-DAY!!!!

We won’t be able to use the sheep after the 31st of October: BUT we can use the huge fields and all the whistles we have collected and newly ordered!! Two-hole-Turbo Blaster, Maxi Blaster, A1, Wilson-pipan, Acme, Californian, Enes-metal, etc.

Bring your whistles along, too, and we will try to raise the dead on the first of November whistling over the flat fields as loudly as we can! At this year’s Continental I experienced once again that the top handlers seem to be able to whistle really, really loud and clear! And simple whistle commands seem to do best for the dogs.

Anyway: We will try our best to find the very best whistle and whistle commands for everyone by trying them out and finding out which tones carry best!!!

Zusätzlich zu drei Hütetagen, die im Oktober am Zicksee möglich sind, machen wir nach der Halloween Party im Lindenhof am 31.ten einen großen Pfeifkommando-Tag am 1stn November, bei dem wir alle verfügbaren Pfeiferl und Kommandos auf Tragweite und Verständlichkeit testen (denn die riesigen Felder können wir ab November noch immer nutzen, nur die Schafe wegen der EU-Förderungen nicht!!!)

Pfeifneulinge müssen solange bleiben, bis sie ihr erstes Kommando pfeifen können!! ;P

Nein, im Ernst: Fortgeschrittenen testen ihre Kommandos und Pfeiferl mit Walkie-Talkie-Rückmeldung über große Distanzen, Anfänger lernen, wie man überhaupt Töne aus der Pfeife herausbringt!!!
