Von unseren Schweizer Freunden mit Ace del Mulino Prudenza, dem Vater unseres E-Wurfs und seinem Sohn Lightspeed Express to Coldstream, haben wir folgende erfreuliche News zugeschickt bekommen:

18. 10. 08: Little-Big-Press is still growing, he’s now almost same as tall as Ace, and coat is growing too.

We enclosed some pics, they date about mid september, he has grown a bit more since then.

We’ve started some soft training in agility and obedience, where he is very clever and also more cooperative than his father he has a natural retrieve and really jumps on you when he comes back with a toy in his mouth and he’s not light!!!

Yesterday we had a go on the sheep after not seeing them for maybe 1 month or more, he started to balance and we got to make him lie down with the sheep against a fence. He’s starting to realise that it’s not only him and the sheep, but we’re there too

He has a very soft movement, never bites and also seems to be naturally much wider than Ace, which is sure a very good thing! We’ll keep on with updates as training progresses!

26. 10. 08: Just back home from the trial in Italy, judged by Frank Satterhtwait (or something like that)

Sheep were really HORRIBLE, they only wanted to be on the people and were charging on the dogs, really awfullly heavy to push.

Ace was entered in class 1, and he just did the perfect job: after a perfect outrun (we got 20 points!),at the lift, he stopped gently but when the sheep turned on to him, he just rushed on them, without biting, and got them on the move. We just lost 1 point there, as the judge already knew how hard those sheep were. We lost 4 points on the fetch as sheep were running a bit wildly in the first meters, trying to avoid the dog to run away, but we managed to meet the fetch gate and straight th.ey came to my feet, close turn at the post and here was the difficult part: almost all dogs were stuck there being unable to push the sheep for the drive away. Not so for us, we managed to keep the sheep always on the move, and though not going perfectly straight (but it just wasn”t possible today!) we passed the gate, then turned to the cross drive gate, just turning a bit wide, then Ace brought the sheep back to the pen, where we had a perfect score of 10, for a total of 79 points out of possible 90.

No need to say, Ace was class 1 winner today, with congratulations from the judge!!!

We are just soooo happy!!!
